Even after entering the room, Sun kept staring silently until Ryu, who had fetched water for him (something he never usually did), could only look away. He wanted to avoid the situation by serving the rice, but Sun continued from the restaurant conversation.

“Phîi Ryu, answer my question,” Sun said.

“I… uh…” Ryu faltered, feeling increasingly uneasy under Sun’s serious gaze.

“It’s hot, huh? I’ll go turn on the air conditioner first,” Ryu said.

I’m going crazy! Since when did I become the one dodging problems? Ryu thought, wanting to ruffle his hair fiercely as he walked to turn on the air conditioner. He noticed Sun watching him but saying nothing. Ryu slowly unbuttoned two buttons of his student uniform, moving slower than a crawling turtle, and sat across from Sun, only to find… Sun still staring at him.

“What are you looking at!” Ryu shouted to break the strange atmosphere. It seemed Sun, the Faculty Moon, had no intention of letting things drift further, as he spoke firmly.

“Looking at my future Mia,” Sun said.

“I’m not your Mia! I’m just your romantic partner!” Ryu, who was once confident in his masculinity, protested loudly, trying to glare fiercely as usual. But Sun responded with a serious tone.

“You talk like we’ve never slept together,” Sun said.

“I… I haven’t! I just… I just… came in your hand, that’s all… Damn it, you damned-animal!” Ryu’s face turned bright red as he shouted, stammering like someone who didn’t know how to argue, letting curses fly around the room. Sun sighed heavily, stood up, and sat beside Ryu, who nearly fell off the sofa.

“Are you scared of me, Phîi?” Sun asked.

Gulp.

“Why would I be scared of you? Someone like me isn’t afraid of you!” Ryu, who could neither be defeated nor humiliated, snapped back, chin raised. Sun, sitting beside him, tried his best to tame his fierce tiger.

If I can’t uncover your secret today, don’t call me Sunny the Nosy! Sun thought.

“If you’re not scared… why do you keep running from me every time?” Sun asked.

Grab.

Sun placed his hand on Ryu’s jeans again, squeezing lightly, ignoring Ryu’s glare and attempt to push his hand away. Sun leaned in so close that Ryu was practically sinking into the sofa, his serious eyes signaling no leniency this time. Ryu, cornered, fell back on his usual excuse.

“I… I’m not scared… You’re the despicable-person! Just because I don’t give in, you’re mad at me and don’t call me!” Ryu said.

Why! Damn it, Ryu, can’t you keep your resentment to yourself? Ryu thought, glancing at Sun, who visibly froze. Then, Sun’s faint smile widened noticeably.

Grab.

“Don’t be upset, Phîi Ryu. I’m not mad at you at all. I didn’t call because I was afraid I couldn’t resist coming to force you. You should know Sunny’s dying to explore your cave…” Sun said.

Crash!

“Ow! Why’d you punch me, Phîi!” Ryu wanted to kick Sun too, who looked at him innocently. But those words! Ryu’s cheeks burned, knowing they must be bright red, giving Sun the upper hand. As expected, Sun touched Ryu’s cheek lightly.

“Your cheeks are so red, Phîi Ryu,” Sun said.

“I… I’m not embarrassed! I’m mad at you, really mad!” Sun wanted to believe him, but with Ryu’s pouty face, red cheeks, and pursed lips, he couldn’t help thinking, Who wouldn’t want to force this guy a couple of rounds?

“So, what are you mad about?” Sun coaxed, making Ryu purse his lips tighter but not pulling away from the loose arm around his waist.

“Mad because you’re mad at me!” Sun was getting dizzy with the accusations. Mad because he was mad? But seeing his sulky little cat, Sun nodded along, his wilted heart feeling watered by the half-Thai’s words.

“So, I don’t have the right to be mad at you, Phîi Ryu?” Sun asked.

“Exactly!” Ryu nodded vigorously, making Sun continue.

“No right to be upset with you either?” Sun asked.

“Right,” Ryu said.

“No right to sulk and not call to be an annoying fucker?” Sun asked.

“Yup!” Ryu affirmed.

Wow, should I be happy with this? My romantic partner’s so selfish, but he’s so attractive pouting like this, I just want to indulge him, Sun thought.

“So, you can be mad at me, but I can’t be mad at you?” Sun asked.

“Exactly! That’s the most pleasing thing you’ve said,” Ryu said, smiling smugly, unaware that Sun was practically pulling him into a full embrace. Unable to resist, Sun leaned in and kissed Ryu’s red cheek loudly.

Ah, that feels good, Sun thought.

“I’ll kick you! Who said you could kiss my cheek?” Ryu shouted.

Sure, you don’t allow it, huh? All threats, but your face is bright red and you’re not pulling away. Such a tsundere cat, Sun thought.

“Let go of my waist! Who said you could hug me!” Ryu demanded.

Oh, you noticed, but you’re letting me hug you, Sun thought.

Knowing Ryu was softening completely, Sun almost laughed. He admitted Ryu’s sulky, red-cheeked look was his favorite, but since he had a purpose today, he circled back to the original topic, catching Ryu off guard.

“I’ll let go… but why won’t you do anything with me, Phîi?” Sun asked.

Gulp.

“I…” Ryu was speechless, looking down at his lap as Sun, who was teasing him moments ago, now asked with a serious tone.

“Phîi Ryu, I’ll admit I can’t resist your tears. If I really wanted to, you couldn’t stop me in the heat of the moment. But we’re romantic partners now… If you don’t tell me, how can I please you? How can I understand why you won’t let me? You know, little things pile up and cause misunderstandings. Too many misunderstandings, and couples break up,” Sun said.

I’ve circled more than five rivers to get to this reason, Sun thought. Ryu’s face fell slightly, his mouth moving faster than his brain.

“Fine, good. If we can break up, great. I didn’t want to date you in the first place,” Ryu said.

Gulp.

Sun froze, looking at the attractive youth with hurt eyes. His hands loosened from Ryu’s waist, and he stood up, making Ryu jump.

“Sun, I…” Ryu started.

“Don’t stop me from being upset with you, Phîi Ryu, but it’s tough. I’m really hurt right now… I’ll leave so I don’t disturb your dinner,” Sun said, sighing and walking toward the door, making Ryu’s eyes widen.

Whoosh.

Grab.

“Sun, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean it. Don’t be mad at me,” Ryu said, rushing to hug Sun tightly, stammering with a shaky voice, terrified like the day Sun walked out. Sun, initially hurt, melted at the warm embrace.

Okay, but I’ll turn this crisis into an opportunity… a little pain for the answer I want, Sun thought.

“I’m not mad, just hurt that you can’t answer my question. I just want to know what you’re scared of. Is there something making you not want to do anything with me?” Sun said, holding back from hugging Ryu back. Ryu slid his hands to Sun’s shirt hem, pressing his face against Sun’s broad back.

“I’m scared… I'm really scared. It hurts… it hurts a lot,” Ryu said.

“You sound… like you’ve experienced it,” Sun, the first-year Faculty Moon, asked with bated breath. Ryu froze.

“Not exactly… but it’s like I have. I know it hurts a lot, so I’m scared…” Ryu didn’t want to voice the thoughts in his heart, finding them embarrassing. But with Sun not hugging him back as usual, his mouth moved before his brain could stop it.

“I’m scared it’ll hurt so much I won’t let you touch me again,” Ryu said.

Yes, the stories he’d heard made him whisper faintly, utterly embarrassed, unaware of Sun’s expression as he stood with his back to him.

Sun was grinning widely… so wide his mouth nearly reached his ears. His heart raced wildly, no longer caring if Ryu had been with another man before. All he cared about was that Ryu cared about him deeply.

Phîi Ryu, do you realize you’re confessing you want me to do it but are scared it’ll hurt? Scared it won’t work out and we won’t touch again? Scared we’ll break up over this? Do you realize how attractive you are? I’d give you my heart right now! Sun thought.

Grab.

“My reason’s pathetic, right? You’re laughing at me, aren’t you!” Ryu shook Sun’s shirt hem fiercely, banging his forehead against Sun’s shoulder. Sun struggled to suppress his smile, turning around, his sharp eyes hiding their sparkle and excitement, pulling Ryu into a loose hug.

Heart pounding. “You’re scared of breaking up with me, Phîi Ryu?” Sun seized the moment, meeting Ryu’s clear black eyes.

“You said you weren’t scared of anyone. Are you lying to me over a simple question?” Sun pressed, seeing Ryu’s stubbornness about to spark a lie. Ryu punched Sun’s chest, suppressing the strange feelings deep inside.

“Fine, I don’t want to break up with you! So what? I want someone to pamper me, so what!” Ryu said, embellishing his reason to save face. Sun pulled the slender frame into a tight hug.

Before Ryu could protest, a deep voice whispered in his ear.

“I won’t break up with you either, Phîi Ryu,” Sun said softly, soothingly, making Ryu soften instantly. He wanted to push Sun away, but when Sun leaned in and kissed his lips lightly, Ryu stood still, feeling only that the kiss was incredibly soft.

Warm lips touched his cheek, trailed to his jaw, and grazed his neck, making Ryu clutch Sun’s shirt tightly, eyes closed, yielding despite his frustration. He couldn’t deny he liked Sun’s touches all over his body.

“I’ll take it slow so you won’t be scared… okay?” Sun said.

Still saying “okay” while unbuttoning my shirt, you despicable-person! Ryu thought, complaining inwardly as a strange, tingling sensation coursed through him. He stood still as Sun kissed here, touched there, sliding a hand along his spine, stroking up and down until Ryu could only moan in his throat.

If it feels this good, maybe it won’t hurt as much as I thought… If I keep crying, Sun will definitely mock me for being a coward, Ryu thought.

The youth, terrified many times before, reassured himself as warm lips trailed across his chest, sucking and nibbling lightly, sending shivers through him. It was enough to make the determined-not-to-be-a-coward whisper faintly.

“Okay,” Ryu said.

“Do… do it with me,” Ryu added.

Gulp.

Sun looked up instantly, meeting trembling eyes, slightly swollen red lips quivering, cheeks faintly flushed—the look Sun loved seeing in bed. He pressed another kiss to the soft mouth and pulled back slightly.

“I told you, Phîi Ryu, we’ll take it slow so you won’t be scared. Plus, you can’t say I’m only with you for that… That’s enough for today. Come on, I’ll button you up. Let’s eat,” Sun said, carefully rebuttoning Ryu’s student uniform, trying not to stare at the enticing rosy buds.

Eyes don’t look, but hands don’t stop touching, Sun thought.

“Oh!” Ryu gasped.

“Sorry, Phîi Ryu, it’s hard. I sucked too much earlier,” Sun said, lightly touching the raised bud on Ryu’s chest, looking up with a smile. He restored his attractive senior to his original state, then turned to the kitchen to serve the rice attentively, leaving Ryu stunned, standing in place.

“And… and…” Ryu stammered.

“And what, Phîi?” Sun asked.

“N-nothing,” Ryu said, shaking his head as Sun turned back to meet his eyes. Ryu shifted slightly, hiding something bulging under his jeans. Sun pretended not to notice, though as he turned away, he grinned widely.

"Make your Phîi Ryu want it bad, huh? Hold on… he’ll beg for it soon enough", Sun remembered.

Shin-jang’s plan is working! Sun thought.

***

“I’m at the university… yeah, parked at the usual spot,” Ryu said.

Ryu, with no morning classes, turned off his beloved car’s engine, phone tucked against his ear, speaking with undisguised irritation.

Yesterday he kissed me, sucked my neck, sucked my chest, and then left… Pathetic! Ryu thought.

Of course, the person he was mad at was none other than the caller, who seemed to know Ryu had left his condo. Ryu grabbed his bag as a light knock sounded on the driver’s side window.

“Open the lock for me, please,” Sun said through the phone, pointing at the door from outside.

Creak.

Ryu, increasingly irritated, unlocked the door, lest Sun make a scene and give people something to gossip about for days.

“Phew, it’s much cooler in here than outside,” Sun said, fanning his student uniform vigorously and flashing a wide smile, eyes and mouth sparkling at the sulky, attractive driver.

“Why’d you get in? I’m heading to meet Nut and the others. I’m hungry,” Ryu said.

“But I’m hungry for you, Phîi Ryu,” Sun said.

Gulp.

Ryu nearly flipped him off as Sun spoke deadpan, then reached to touch Ryu’s lips. Ryu swatted his hand away.

“Come on, just a little, Phîi Ryu… really,” Sun said, leaning closer with a wide smile, touching Ryu’s red lips lightly again. His sharp eyes stared meaningfully, making Ryu’s heart race, compounded by the lingering arousal from last night. Without thinking, Ryu licked his lips.

Sun’s eyes gleamed… So hot.

“You don’t smoke, Phîi Ryu, do you? Your lips are so kissable,” Sun said dreamily, making Ryu jump and try to push him away. Sun’s intended kiss on Ryu’s red lips landed on the corner of his mouth instead.

“Sun, no! Someone might see!” Ryu shouted, turning away, though he admitted his blood surged with just that light touch and lick at the corner of his mouth.

“Just a little… really,” Sun said, licking Ryu’s upper lip lightly, then brushing the lower lip, sending an electric current through Ryu’s body. Sun’s large hand slid to Ryu’s thigh, stroking gently, making him shiver.

“Sun… you… stop…” Ryu said.

“Just a little, Phîi,” Sun said, nuzzling Ryu’s white neck, kissing lightly. His hand stroked Ryu’s thigh meaningfully, creeping upward until Ryu grabbed it tightly.

“If you don’t stop, I’ll get mad!” Ryu said, breathing slightly faster, voice firmer, though his cheeks burned and something under his jeans heated up with the teasing touches. Sun pulled back slowly.

“Then just one kiss on the back of your neck,” Sun bargained in a coaxing tone. Ryu, weak to that voice, shot an annoyed glance, suppressing the strange sensations coursing through him, and reached to pull out the car key, stepping out.

“I’m done playing with you,” Ryu said.

Creak.

Ryu opened the car door, thinking Sun would follow, but as he moved to step out…

Grab.

Sun’s long hand covered Ryu’s, pulling the door shut. His other hand brushed Ryu’s neck, parting the hair to reveal the elegant neck Sun had wanted to kiss since they met. He leaned in, blowing warm breath gently on the sensitive skin.

“Oh!” Ryu flinched, heart racing with excitement over what Sun might do.

“I’ve always thought your neck is beautiful, Phîi Ryu… wanted to kiss it like this for so long… smooch,” Sun said, pressing a light kiss to the back of Ryu’s neck, his tongue grazing the soft skin. Ryu, about to step out, gripped the door tighter, eyes wide as waves of desire surged through him.

If I could kiss here while you’re on your knees… God, just thinking about it is thrilling, Sun thought.

Sun kissed lightly again, sucking just enough to leave a faint mark, feeling Ryu tremble slightly in his arms. He wasn’t much different himself.

“Sun… enough… I… I feel…” Ryu’s trembling voice snapped Sun out of his daze with the soft skin. He pulled back slightly, glancing at his handiwork, seeing his beautiful little cat aroused. Sun smirked slyly and withdrew quickly.

“Whoops, sorry, Phîi. I got carried away. You were going to meet Phîi Nut, right? I saw him at the central cafeteria… Come on, I’ll help,” Sun said, swiftly grabbing Ryu’s bag and slinging it over his shoulder, taking Ryu’s phone and jumping out of the car, using the bag to hide his own youthful arousal.

Ryu, still dazed, whipped around to look, catching Sun’s familiar annoying grin.

“Hurry up, Phîi Ryu. Didn’t you say you were in a rush?” Sun said.

“I… I…” Ryu glanced down at himself briefly, then gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, stepped out quickly, and slammed the door with pent-up frustration.

This is your “taking it slow”? Getting me worked up and then stopping? Ryu thought, annoyed, then startled by his own thoughts.

He’s taking it slow, and that’s right. He’s not teasing you, Ryu. You’re the one not giving in, Ryu thought.

Ryu glanced at Sun, now standing beside him, raising an eyebrow as if to say, Why are you looking at me? Ryu shook his head, calming the feelings as much as possible, and walked ahead, keeping a distance to avoid rumors that he was smitten with this annoying fucker of a Faculty Moon.

“You bring so much to study, Phîi Ryu. This is heavy,” Sun said.

“Books for the report with Phim. If you don’t want to carry it, give it back. I can handle my own stuff,” Ryu said, reaching for the bag, but Sun shook his head vigorously, grinning widely with sparkling eyes.

“No way, Khrap. This Sunny has to be a good Phûa and carry things for his Mia,” Sun said.

“Who’s your Mia!” Ryu retorted, making Sun grin wider.

“I don’t have a mirror, but want my phone camera? Front-facing, too. That’s the one… my Mia,” Sun said, smirking and eyeing Ryu from head to toe, lingering deliberately on something lower. He darted ahead as Ryu’s face turned murderous.

“You annoying fucker! If I don’t kick you today, I won’t sleep tonight!” Ryu shouted, chasing after Sun to kick the guy who called him his Mia, both angry and embarrassed, though the former overshadowed the latter.

I’m not your Mia yet! Ryu thought.

***

Crash!

Gasp!

“Hey, Ryu, what’s got you so pissed? You come in and slam stuff on the table,” Nut said, startled, looking at his friend who ruffled his hair irritably and plopped down beside him.

“I ran into a juvenile-hellspawn on the way,” Ryu said.

“Oh, Sun, right?” Nut said, chuckling, making Ryu whip around as if to say, How’d you know it was him?

“Haha, don’t look at me like that. Sun’s only chasing you these days. Everyone knows. And he’s the only one you get this mad at… I heard the seniors are thrilled you don’t like men. Otherwise, Sun would be dead meat with you and wouldn’t reach those golden bachelors,” Nut said. Ryu flinched inwardly, knowing almost the entire faculty was aware he got furious when men hit on him.

But I don’t want to tell anyone that juvenile-hellspawn… got me already, Ryu thought.

No way! I just slipped up, that’s all, Ryu thought.

Grab.

“Hey, my water!” Ryu, irritated, snatched the bottle from Nut’s hand and chugged it, suppressing the strange feelings as he learned some senior women had their eyes on Sun. He muttered under his breath.

“If you cheat on me… I’ll kill you,” Ryu whispered to himself, barely audible, not admitting he cared. Nut shrugged, standing to buy another water bottle, too lazy to reclaim the half-drunk one.

“Pay up. That’s my water,” Nut said.

“You’re such a Misser,” Ryu said, pulling a twenty-baht note from his pocket and placing it on the table, still muttering to himself. Nut grabbed it, chuckling.

“No change,” Nut said.

“Fine!” Ryu said. But before Nut could head to the drink stall, his eyes caught something.

“Hey, Ryu, allergic to mosquitoes? Your neck’s bright red,” Nut said.

Grab.

“Hey!” Ryu, now furious, grabbed his collar, eyes wide, recalling who touched his neck, clenching his fists and growling.

That juvenile-hellspawn! Ryu thought.

***

“What’d you do, Sun? That’s a clear shoeprint,” Dear asked his close friend immediately as Sun strolled in, whistling. Today, Sun’s handsome face wasn’t as eye-catching as the shoeprint on his stomach. Sun looked proud, showing off his shirt.

“My cat’s pawprint,” Sun said. Dear made a face.

“You’ve got a giant cat, huh?” Dear said.

“Haha, a bit big, but cute. It meows and tries to scratch me,” Ryu’s psycho said, laughing, then turned to his half-Thai friend cheerfully.

“Hey, Shin-jang, your plan seems to be working. If I succeed, I’ll treat you to a big meal,” Sun said enthusiastically. Shin chuckled, amused.

“Save your money for your Mia. Looks like with your hunger, he’ll be bedridden,” Shin said. Both guys laughed heartily, leaving Dear with a wry smile, feeling sorry for Ryu as someone on the same side.

Should I warn my Rahad that tops are bloody fucking despicable… except my Phîi Porsche? Dear thought, not exactly praising his own romantic partner.
