"Does Phîi Phai have free time today? Would you like to go have a meal together?"

In the evening, as the sky was turning a deep blue, Phra Phai was walking out of his company. His sharp eyes scanned the area, but before he could find his target, a young woman with a small build, who seemed to have been lying in wait for him, rushed to stand directly in front of him. She offered a coaxing smile and made pitiful eyes, a look which Phra Phai rejected without a second thought.

"I am not free, Khun Kul."

"Not even for one meal? Please."

If this had been seven or eight months ago, Phra Phai would have crossed the bridge she offered without overthinking it. But now, the young man merely offered a faint smile, though his eyes clearly reflected his firm resolve.

"I am sorry. I am not free, and I think if Khun Kul continues to invite me with that look in your eyes, I will probably remain unavailable indefinitely."

Chorpikun's face flushed red with embarrassment, causing Phra Phai to sidestep away.

"What is wrong with me?" But the person he thought would concede and retreat did not yield, still insisting on getting an answer, until the young man felt a sense of surprise. He had not thought this cute, small young woman could be so assertive. He suspected that previously, he had flirted a bit too much, leading to a serious misunderstanding.

This is your own damn fault, you damned-animal Phai.

It was true that before, he had teased and flirted just enough to be pleasant, so he hurriedly corrected his own mistake.

"Khun Kul is not bad at all; in fact, Khun Kul is a very good young woman. It is just that between us, there is nothing of that nature. Do you understand me?"

"I do not understand." Phra Phai was extremely glad he had set a rule for himself to have no workplace romances. If he had actually touched this young woman, it would have been a bloody fucking headache, because now Chorpikun had a look in her eyes similar to his own, self-confident, thinking that everyone around her must like her, but he did not like her.

It was not just now; he did not like anyone else at any time. In his heart, there was a cute young man fully equipped with stationery supplies at maximum capacity. He would not let anyone else sit there and cause it to overflow.

"Before this, Phîi Phai never acted like this with me. Suddenly, you are so cold. If I did something wrong, you can tell me. I will improve myself."

Good Lord, Psycho! This sounds like a married couple entering couples counseling. For the record, he was not her romantic partner, did not court her, and had no relationship. He had just flirted a little, was that not it? This made Phra Phai start to realize that perhaps he was not as skilled as he thought, that he could not read people's minds and understand every situation. It was so much better that he had stopped with Sky before what his Mâe feared became reality.

If he had not stopped, there would surely have been a day when a young woman would show up pregnant to complain to his Mâe.

Chorpikun spoke and then reached out to grip his shirt sleeve, causing Phra Phai to frown and try to pull away.

"Khun Kul did nothing wrong, and you do not need to improve yourself, because you and I will not become involved, and there is no chance of it."

"But..."

If you do not stop now, I will have to be a heartless-person!

"Phîi Phai."

Shit!

However, the person who was starting to get annoyed jolted in surprise, his heart dropping to his ankles. He turned sharply to look at the source of the voice calling him, and he saw... a slender young man looking at him with cold eyes.

Sharp, sharp, sharp!

Phra Phai shook his head vigorously to indicate that he had done nothing, that this young woman had nothing to do with him, it was true.

Meanwhile, Sky looked at him with a still face, appearing unreadable, which caused a small sense of trepidation.

After clearing up the matters of Sky's past, the young man had begun to show more emotion, which he liked very much. But the problem was that accidentally encountering 'former adversaries' had caused Sky to sulk at him several times. He was not tired of appeasing him, but he wanted to shout to his past self to stop being a flirt. Whenever he saw his significant other with reddened eyes, he almost felt like he could not breathe!

This time was the same; Sky looked at him, looked at his hand which was holding Chorpikun's hand again, then looked back at his face.

Then he walked over sullenly and...

Yank!

The moment the white hand pulled sharply on the necktie at his collar, it caused Chorpikun's hand to let go, and she even had to step aside to avoid it. Phra Phai raised both hands in a surrender gesture, looking into his eyes to communicate his sincerity, his lips lifting in a coaxing smile.

"As soon as Sky called to say you were arriving, I hurried down to receive you. I am off work now. Let us go home. My Mâe has prepared a big meal for us." The reason he came downstairs was to pick up the young man who had taken a taxi from the university, not to meet the beautiful young woman who was now looking left and right with a confused expression.

Sky narrowed his eyes slightly, and Phra Phai thought he was already among the ranks of those who respect their significant other.

"Who are you? Why are you pulling on Phîi Phai's shirt like that? Let go."

But Chorpikun spoke on his behalf with irritation, which caused the pitch-black eyes of the person who had pulled the necktie to turn and look at her. Then Sky smiled politely.

"I apologize to you."

"What? Apologize for what? You should apologize to Phîi Phai."

Not only was Chorpikun looking at him strangely, Phra Phai himself was also listening quietly, waiting. Then Sky continued.

"I apologize that 'my romantic partner' has been causing a nuisance for you. In any case, I must take my romantic partner and leave now. Phîi Phai's parents and Khun Uncle are waiting for us to return home to have dinner together. Excuse me." Then Sky quickly pulled him away by his collar, amidst the stunned gaze of the young woman who was left with her mouth agape.

This was in contrast to the person who was mistakenly thought to be causing a nuisance with the young woman, who laughed heartily.

Yank!

Once they were around the corner of the building, Phra Phai did not hesitate to grab the waist of his significant other, who had turned his face away, and hug him.

"I was not causing a nuisance. She came to talk to me herself. I am only Sky's romantic partner, right?" Having said that, he kissed his cheek in a coaxing manner, causing the young man to look up at him from under his lashes, but he finally released the tight grip on the necktie. He pressed his lips together, then relaxed them with such an adorable, endearing expression that Phra Phai kissed his red lips heavily.

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

"And you are not angry with me for acting like that? It was extremely rude." Once his anger subsided, Sky spoke with a sense of guilt, but Phra Phai said he would gladly take even more than that.

"I am not angry. I am actually happy that Sky intervened like that... You can assert your ownership over me even more than this."

Ah! He was so happy.

Seeing both cheeks gradually redden like this was much better than constantly observing whether his ears were red or if he was embarrassed. Because now, Sky was expressing himself directly to him. Instead of being annoyed, Phra Phai thought he liked it. The more Sky showed that he loved and cherished him, the more he allowed Sky to have the upper hand, because...

"Thank you."

The young man moved in to kiss his lips quickly and then lowered his head to bite his own lip.

"Okay, so we are done making up, right? Let us go. They must be waiting for us at my house." Phra Phai moved his hand to hold Sky's hand and led him toward the parking lot, because he really did have plans with his family.

At that moment, Phra Phai remembered something.

"Sky, do you remember when I told Rain that Sky had forgotten something at my place, so I would return it?"

"That was the excuse you used with Âi Rain to get my number, was it not?" Sky remembered it clearly, which made the one who asked smile even wider, turning back to meet his gaze.

"Yes. I have given it back now."

The bewildered expression of the person who could not yet follow made Phra Phai laugh.

"Well, that day, Sky forgot to take my heart back with you, so I followed to return it. Now that you have received it, please take good care of it. I must tell you upfront that I do not accept returns." He loved Sky's stunned face, before the young man replied with a wide smile.

"That is cheesy, Phîi Phai. But still..."

The hands holding each other squeezed tighter.

"...I will take the very best care of it."

And so, how could Phra Phai have eyes for anyone else? It seemed he had been captivated by this young man since the very second their eyes first met.

The End
