The light from outside shone through the thin curtains, hitting his bruised eyelids which twitched slightly, and then they opened slowly, revealing eyes clear of the haze of past events, containing only a clarity brighter than before. Napon even felt that the scene of this morning was so bright, fresh, and a morning he wanted to get out of bed for.
All of this was thanks to the man holding him.
The large man he once thought was just playing around, but who turned out to be so serious that he lost completely.
Last night, when he thought Phîi Phai had given him to that guy, Sky was like sinking back into the previous incident; his heart might have said it wasn't true, but because of the fear he had experienced once before, plus the fact that they had gotten into this room, Sky stopped perceiving anything else. He just thought, whatever it wants to do, let it do; if it wants to rape, then just rape; his heart was numb, in so much pain he didn't even register what was being done to him.
He only thought of the past events with Phîi Phai.
The more he thought, the more it hurt. He could only beg not to be given to anyone, not to be tormented, not to be betrayed like this. Until he heard Phîi Phai's voice calling him, the person who ordered him to cry, the person who said if it hurts, they would hurt together. Phîi Phai was the person who called him back to the real world.
Last night was the day Sky cried the hardest since that incident.
But this time was vastly different. He woke up with happiness and the knowledge that someone who loved him was by his side. Even though his heart still held fragments of fear, Sky found he was ready to move forward now. Ready with...
Smooch!
The young man leaned in to kiss his lips lightly, then pulled away smiling.
Even though he was better, it would probably take a while before he dared to be openly clingy with Phîi Phai.
"Just one kiss?"
Sky barely managed to hide his smile, looking at the handsome face that had opened its eyes to meet his gaze, and even had the nerve to demand more.
"You're awake already!"
"I wanted to wake up to see Sky's face early."
Before, he would have called that cheesy, but now his face flushed instantly, barely able to avoid his gaze.
"Another kiss."
"It's morning," Sky muttered.
"What does it being morning matter? Whether it's late or early, we can kiss." Phîi Phai tugged his hand, smiling widely, making Sky bite his lip tighter. It was just that he was shy. In the morning, with his senses fully back in his body, he realized he had done many embarrassing things, relied on Phîi Phai so much, and also let Phîi Phai know how much he loved him. Just thinking that he might be given to someone else had put him in a near-death state.
Phra Phai's expression also broke into a wide smile.
"What a cute youth. Your cheeks are bright red."
"I'm not cute at all."
"Hmm, my Sky is beautiful, but Sky is cute."
What kind of line was that!
The listener could only widen his eyes, looking at the large man who laughed cheerfully, completely different from the furious giant of the previous night.
"Come on! Smile quickly. Why are you holding back your smile? Smile for me." Sky just found out that those crazy lines made him hold back a smile until his cheeks hurt. In the end, he finally let a smile show, looking into the pair of sharp eyes that clearly reflected affection, and then allowed himself to be pulled to lie on his chest, closing his eyes, letting the large hand stroke his cheek and brush the long hair falling over his forehead back.
"Sky."
"Yes?"
"Sky, Khrap."
The owner of the name opened his eyes immediately, looking at the face spreading into a wide smile, realizing someone was repeating an old line, but he still waited to hear.
But Phîi Phai just turned to look towards the balcony, at the sky which was a brilliant blue today.
"The sky is so lovely today. Look at that cloud, it's even shaped like a heart."
The person waiting to hear couldn't help but punch his shoulder once.
"Ouch! Why are you hitting me!" Phra Phai put on an exaggerated, dramatic act of being hurt, opening his mouth as if to cry, until the annoyed person asked a question.
"Is the sky lovely or is Sky lovely?"
The question made Phra Phai smile widely, wrapping both arms around his waist.
"Sky, of course. What kind of flighty nonsense would I care about? Someone like me isn't interested in conquering the sky, but wants the heart of the one youth whose name means sky, and only that one." That made Sky bury his face in his chest, no longer holding back his smile, letting his lips spread into a wide grin, both arms hugging his waist back, and then deciding to do this.
Smooch!
"The person whose name means sky also loves the most handsome Phîi whose name means wind."
He leaned in to press a heavy kiss on his mouth, saying with a smile, and when finished, went back to nestling against his chest. Why would he let Phîi Phai regain his composure? That made the strong embrace holding him tighten even more. The person holding his waist grabbed him and rolled around on the bed, a deep voice growling above his head.
"So wicked! Just this and I'm already going crazy loving you!"
Soon, laughter echoed throughout the large room, sweeping away the sadness and bitterness, leaving only happiness embracing the two hearts.
***
"Hello, Khrap. We finally get to meet."
"No way!!!"
Last night, Phra Phai hadn't fully registered it because he was too busy being angry at the shit-lizard that calling it a shit-lizard was still feeling sorry for the shit-lizard(?), but now he suddenly remembered his romantic partner's story. When he took Sky downstairs, it wasn't just his Mâe who was having the youth set the breakfast table, but also a very handsome young Uncle sitting sipping coffee.
Uncle Afros greeted him with a normal smile, but Sky here gripped his arm tightly and exclaimed loudly.
"Afros Pattanatheera!"
The young Uncle raised his eyebrows in surprise but nodded with a smile.
"You know me?"
Hey, hey, hey! His face is bright red! Wait a minute.
"Yes, Khrap, I know you. I used to watch the series where, uh..."
"You can call me Uncle Afros like all those youths."
"Yes, Khrap, Uncle Afros."
Phra Phai's eyes lit up because the youth by his side was still holding his arm, but not from nervousness at meeting another adult relative, but from excitement so great he was digging his fingers into his arm tightly, looking up to talk to the young Uncle with a smile that clearly showed how much he liked, admired, and adored him, almost to the point of groaning in his throat.
How could I forget that my Uncle used to be an actor!!!!
Over ten years ago, when he was in his early twenties, his Uncle was a leading man who received a lot of attention, so famous that wherever he went, people knew him. But because about ten years ago, his Uncle broke up with his romantic partner in the most painful way, until he almost threw his life away, driving his car to cut off a truck. Although he survived, the incredibly capable Uncle of the three siblings became someone detached from the world for almost a year before recovering and announcing his retirement from acting, then moving behind the scenes, making a name for himself as a skilled director instead.
Once again, Phra Phai forgot to consider that a few years ago, his Uncle agreed to act in one series because the producer was a close friend from his acting days, so he couldn't refuse. But who would have thought his Uncle was the same person his romantic partner admired so much.
If he remembered correctly, last night Sky said... first love.
"Hey, hey! Separate, separate. This is your nephew's Mia... that's enough, Sky, no more looking. I'm more handsome than Uncle... me."
"Just in terms of skin tone, you can't compete, Phîi Phai."
Oh ho! Now he's talking back.
Phra Phai grabbed him abruptly, pulling the youth into an embrace, pushing his face to nestle against his shoulder possessively, staring firmly at his Uncle who laughed in amusement.
"Come on, let Uncle and my nephew's Mia talk."
"Better not. Uncle just got divorced; I don't trust him."
Given that the person who was the example to Phra Phai that since you're born, you should make it worth it, whether with men or women, it's his Uncle!
Before having a romantic partner, Uncle Afros was much more of a playboy than Phai himself. Why should he trust him?
"Phîi Phai."
"Don't 'Phîi Phai' me. No more looking, Sky. Just look at this dark one for the rest of your life." The young man said petulantly. That made Sky cling tightly to his arm, cheeks bright red, but now he didn't dare interpret whether it was because of Uncle Afros or because of him. Until he heard the soft whisper of the person who finally spoke truthfully from the heart.
"Your Uncle is the leading man I liked, but you are the man I love."
Phra Phai narrowed his eyes and then...
"Okay, then you can talk to him."
Phra Phai, who never lost to anyone, reluctantly relaxed his embrace, but still pulled Sky to sit on the other side of the dining table, absolutely refusing to let him sit on the same side as his Uncle.
"Don't look at my Mia, Uncle."
While the young man was still glaring at his Uncle himself, Sky turned to another adult of the house, saying apologetically.
"Mâe, Khrap, I'm sorry for coming without telling you last night."
"It's alright, son. Come anytime. Sky can come whenever you want. Mâe is happy to welcome you." The Mâe of the three siblings, who was secretly wiping away tears, acting overly happy that her son was serious about someone, said enthusiastically and quickly stepped into the kitchen before the youth could even respond.
Throughout the meal, Phra Phai had to act like a possessive goose. He didn't know if it was his imagination, but both his Uncle and his Mâe were excessively engaging his Mia in conversation.
The two adults wouldn't say that seeing Phra Phai like this was quite funny.
He looked completely head over heels in love.
"Your house is so lovely."
"Your house or your Uncle's house?"
Don't say he's being petulant, but seeing the usually quiet Sky talking so eagerly with his Uncle, knowing every series his Uncle had ever been in, this nephew who had hardly ever watched his Uncle's series couldn't help but interfere. Even when parking the car under Sky's dorm, he still said sulkily.
"Is Phîi Phai sulking?"
"Maybe not sulking. Last night you hugged me and cried all night, then in the morning you're happy with another man."
Sigh. But at least he waited for him to get out too. Sky looked at his face for a moment and then got out of the car first, making him sigh. Had he gotten so carried away that he forgot Sky wasn't one to coax? He could only get out of the car dejectedly, following behind the youth who used his access card.
Then, without a word, he walked straight up to the third-floor room, until the jealous person's heart sank.
"I'm not sulking anymore. There, there! Turn around and talk to me." But Sky still didn't talk, unlocking the door and going in first, making him hurry to follow.
"Sky."
He walked up behind the youth who was walking to the desk, his two hands about to rise for a hug, but it was too late...
"This, I made it for you."
Sky turned around and pushed a two-story model house towards him, making him quickly take hold of it. Then the person he thought wouldn't coax him bowed his head and spoke.
"The professor gave an assignment to design a house for a large family. Even though I followed the assignment, in my head I didn't really think of this as a house for a family with grandparents, parents, and three children. When I made it, I only thought of it as my house and.... yours." Sky finally looked up, his eyes trembling.
"Phîi Phai, if I tell you I'm thinking far ahead enough to live with you in the future, will you get bored of me?"
Phra Phai could only look at those eyes, and then he looked down at the beautifully styled house with a large garage suitable for parking several of his cars, a balcony extending towards the yard suitable for barbecues, which the meat-loving person would adore. Besides that, there was space for them to use together. Everything looked simple but charming, giving a modern yet warm feeling, indicating that the person who made it paid attention to every detail.
The young man reached out to place the model on the desk before gathering his loved one into a tight embrace.
"I'm sorry that I acted out a bit too much today. But I didn't expect to meet the actor in my heart. He is the person who helped me get through those terrible days, but the person who makes me able to move forward is you. Phîi Phai, believe me, no one is as lovely as you. There is no one I love as much as you anymore. Can you believe me?" The eyes that showed a worried glint made the person looking at him press a loving kiss to his temple.
"I believe you. I believe you. I'm sorry too for sulking unreasonably."
"No, Phîi Phai can sulk. I might not be good at coaxing, but I will try."
Who says he's not good? This is the best.
The thought of the widely smiling person, all grievances disappeared, replaced by happiness.
He now knew why Sky refused help with this work; it was to show him later.
This time, even if he was angry about anything, the anger vanished completely. There was only holding him tightly, kissing his cheeks many times, then moving to press a heavy kiss on his well-shaped lips until Sky went soft, gasping for air, cheeks crimson, looking so cute he couldn't help but kiss again, and again, and...
"Enough! My lips are all bruised!"
"Then we can kiss elsewhere." With that, he pressed a heavy kiss on the nape of his neck, making the youth jolt.
"Phîi Phai, can I ask you something?" Even though he wanted to nestle a bit more, Phra Phai willingly looked up to meet his eyes, raising his eyebrows instead of asking, looking at the person who seemed hesitant.
"What... do you like about me?"
"Everything. Whether it's your face, personality, from your hair down to your toes, I like it all. Sky, just as you are, is who I like." He knew the other was still worried, so he wanted to reassure him. To him, Sky wasn't boring at all; on the contrary, he liked that there was a stubborn but soft-hearted person here.
Whenever he slipped up, he melted completely.
But when Sky asked, Phra Phai thought more deeply about it.
The first time they met, he had to admit he was captivated in an indescribable way. But was that just a superficial attraction, or was it....
"Maybe love at first sight."
That's it.
"Huh!?" Sky made a dazed face, not believing what he heard. Phra Phai, having love at first sight? It strongly didn't match his personality. Even he himself could hardly believe it. But once the words came out, Phra Phai said it was like that.
"I might have loved Sky from the first time. I don't know. I only knew that I wanted Sky's heart, I wanted Sky to like me. But whether it was that or not, I don't care anymore. And since Sky likes me, I no longer think about why. I just answer that I will like you like this, love you like this, continuously... Does my answer pass?"
He'd say he passed with flying colors.
This time, Sky smiled at him again, a smile that Phra Phai adored every time he saw it, and his Sky said...
"If Phîi Phai wants it, then Sky will give it to you."
"I promise to take the best care of it."
Who says the person who has power over the skies and oceans is the happiest? Phra Phai says it's not true. He only needs this sky, this Sky person, and he is the happiest person in the world.
